Welcome - AHSC #257

This card was made for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #257.  This is one of my favorite design papers from Bo-Bunny, one side a floral and the other side a great pastel wood panel.  Used a rectangle die with small circles around the background and layered with cocoa cardstock.   Cut three banners from the same background paper, die cut the pinking on each of the banners, layered with cocoa cardstock and adhered directly to background layering one of them in the middle.   Die-cut a circle and placed my fussy-cut florals from the design paper layering them on the circle, distressed the floral edges and added Wink of Stella to the flowers (see close-up photo below to see glitter).  Used Welcome on the banners instead of the bottom corner of the card to make it look like a welcome sign on a wooden door.

Used the floral design sheet, layered with cocoa cardstock on the bottom border of the inside of the card.

Stargazer - Color Dare #286 TicTacToe

This is my Design Team Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #286 combined with Tuesday Mornings Sketch Challenge #446 and chose to use the bottom row "Canary, Ruby, Pewter" and almost all the other colors from the Tic-Tac-Toe Board, along with one design paper, 4 PML cards and a couple zip strips from the "Make Waves" paper pack.  Cut all the design panels, layered with Sapphire cardstock and adhered to background design paper.  The rocket PML card was die cut with a stitched oval using thin foam tape to attach to the Paper Smooches "Bam Bubble" and adhered with thin foam sheet to the background panels.  A sentiment "4-U" was designed in Cricut Design Space with text, cut and adhered to the rocket panel.

You will get to choose colors from a Tic-Tac-Toe board using the Close to My Heart color palette from the featured paper pack of the month. In March we have been featuring colors from the "Stargazer" paper pack. You must use and identify the three colors in a row/column of your choice with your entry. You may also add any or all of the other colors from the Tic-Tac-Toe board but you may not add any additional colors NOT on the board.

Gear Up - H2H March Week 4

Needed a masculine Birthday Card for my son...so all the flower and leaf dies were not an option to use for Heart2Heart's Theme this week. My son likes rustic art so had just the right paper for a bunch of sprockets. Many layers of sprockets were used along with 3D thin foam tape used for dimension. Sentiment was text created in Cricut Design Space and written on the same design paper as the background. Added some Novo Crystal drops randomly around the sprockets. Well, must say I wasn't disappointed not using flowers.

Hop on by Heart2Heart for this week's "Cut It Out!" Challenge and showcase your favorite project with lots dies, thin cuts, cricut cuts and fussy-cuts...a wide range or variety of things to use...can't wait to see your artwork. You have until the end of the month to create and submit this theme and other upcoming March themes to earn a Perfect Attendance Badge if you create a card for each weekly theme during that month.

On the inside of the card used a couple of the extra die cuts that were not used on the front of the card. Added text in Cricut Design Space for sentiment using Cricut thin Pen.

Hello Spring - Color Dare 285

My DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #285 using Bashful, Pebble and Raspberry was combined with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #256.  My background choice was one of the design papers from Paper Fundamentals "Adventure Raspberry" using Pebble cardstock for my layering.

Looking through my Spring Dies there was a bicycle with a basket and die cut with Pebble textured Design Paper. Using another design sheet decided to fill the basket with some flowers and have a Easter bunny on the back of the bike sitting among some more flowers.  These were adhered using some 3D thin foam tape for dimension.  Using the Bashful Glitter paper to die cut the Easter Egg  Sentiment, placed on a layer of the same design paper as the flowers and adhered with 3D foam tape.

Please stop by and view the DT's inspiration for these challenges ... and would love to see what bright and cheery projects you will create.  The Color Dare Challenge will be open for (2) weeks...AND you still have time to enter in our Color Dare #284 "Glacier, Pacifica and Silver Optional"  Click Here.

On the inside of the card added a border on the bottom with design paper and then added a cluster of small flowers from the stamp set.

Enjoy Your Special Day

The Outlawz - March Freebie/Progressive Challenge using Anne's Digital Art "Catch of The Day"...love this freckle-faced fisherman and using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #285 turning to portrait.  Printed two digitals, die cut one  with a rectangle frame, colored image with a variety of Copic pens, layered with Goldrush cardstock and used a pastel blue watercolor pencil for the background.  The second digital was colored partially for the pieces needed for a dimensional look, fussy-cut and adhered on top of image with 3D thin foam tape.

Die cut the cloud in two colors, the blue being the shadow, and the white to stamp on a Sentiment in Goldrush ink.  The inside of the card, just added another design paper border along the side.  Didn't have any cuts or stamps that I could fit in.  The other photo was closer to show the dimension of the image (hat, fish, shirt and shoes).

Hug - House-Mouse "Jelly Bean Thief"

This card was made for House-Mouse & Friend Monday Challenge #262 "Anything Goes" using Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #445.  Picked up some Bo-Bunny design paper this past weekend and wanted to use for my first Easter Card and apparently House-Mouse found some jelly beans among the Easter eggs.  House-Mouse was colored with Copic sketch pens using a soft combination of grays and pastel jelly beans, layered with thin foam sheet, adhered on two oval stitched frames. In place of flowers in sketch chose to cut out some eggs from the design paper, layered with white cardstock, fussy-cut, adhered with 3D thin foam tape and used liquid glass on the nose and eggs for dimension.  One more cut of an egg from design sheet, layered, sentiment stamped on egg and adhered with 3D foam tape.

On the inside of the card added a border with the two design papers from Bo-Bunny.

You Mean The World To Me

Back awhile ago at our Crop my daughter demonstrated how to make Galaxy backgrounds and since the Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #12 "Out of This World" is featured as their challenge for the month of March, decided to put together a slider card.
Galaxy background...Start with several watercolors paints, splashed with water and added black water coloring on top, letting it dry and repeating this process 3 or 4 times.  When background was dry, a white spritz was sprayed over the entire background.

Had originally cut the background for a sketch challenge and then changed my mind because it didn't work well with the sketch.  Already had the slider put together so just pieced the other already cut pieces at the bottom.  Added my assortment of stamps which were colored, fussy-cut and adhered to my galaxy background.

The balance of the stamps were added to the inside of the card against a border of black cardstock.

Happy Birthday - H2H March Week #3

This is my DT card for Heart2Heart "Rainbow" theme for this week...anything Rainbows.  My card looks CAS, but a lot of piecing made it time consuming, however, exactly what I wanted for my interpretation of the Rainbow theme.  There were six cuts made with the Party Music die...one of each color in the rainbow plus the flourish of the notes.  I had a die that said "Happy Birthday To You" but I hadn't left enough room on the background to use the full die and ended up cutting off the To You.

Hop on by Heart2Heart for this week's "Rainbow" Challenge and showcase your favorite project with lots of color and pots of gold! A wide range or variety of related and typically colorful things...can't wait to see your artwork.  You have until the end of the month to create and submit this theme and other upcoming March themes to earn a Perfect Attendance Badge if you create a card for each weekly theme during that month.
